Regulations to be followed while Registering/Renewing .EU Domain Names

The .EU Registry has laid down the following policies for registering or renewing domain names:

The .EU Registry allows Registration/Renewal of a domain name for only one year. However, Registrar.AM allows you to place a Registration/Renewal action for multiple years. If you choose to register/renew your .EU domain name for more than one year, then Registrar.AM will renew the domain name at its end for the number of years selected. You can be rest assured that once this one year term in completed, Registrar.AM will Renew your domain name for a further year, until the renewal term you had requested ends.

.EU domain names can only contain alphabets a to z, numbers 1 to 9 and hyphens. However, domain names cannot have two hyphens in the third place.

The eligibility criteria for registering a .EU domain name is as listed below:

- Undertakings should have their registered office, central administration or principal place of business within the European Community

- Organizations established within the European Community without prejudice to the application of the national law

- Natural persons residing within the European Community

Some names have been blocked or reserved by the European Commission and the Member states:

Two-letter codes representing countries are blocked and may not be registered as .EU domain names.
